Reviews for El Patio Oklahoma City
Review highlights
Based on 730 reviewsEl Patio garners consistent praise for its authentic Mexican tamales, which many patrons regard as among the best available in Oklahoma City. Reviewers frequently highlight the moist texture and rich flavor that evoke a genuine, home-style experience. Alongside tamales, offerings like elote receive positive remarks, and long-time customers emphasize the restaurant’s reliability over the years. While the food quality and authenticity stand out as clear strengths, some guests have noted an unusual atmosphere, marked by a sense of unease due to security measures and the establishment’s ambiance. Overall, El Patio is celebrated primarily for its flavorful and traditional cuisine, maintaining a loyal following despite occasional concerns about the dining environment.
Ok, not gonna say anything more than necessary about this "operation" to get my points, since google just recommended i review it. Not sure what this establishment does but I don't think it's food related. I know i probably shouldn't have been there, i could tell by the looks i got from the people in the windows. And the many, many hidden security cameras kinda made me feel a little sketch. I give it 5 stars for keeping my life interesting, and making me feel alive and part of something bigger than myself. Highly recommend it if you're ever in that area, but you probably won't be if you're reading reviews on google for good places to eat. Wrong demographic
The food was so good. It tastes as if I had gone home and eaten. The tamales are better than the ones I buy from someone else and pay far more than what I paid.
I'm from Cali and when I moved to the East Coast 20yrs ago, I could not find one place that made real authentic Mexican tamales that I was used to eating. We happened to pass through OKC area and found this small spot. I finally had the tamales that I have been searching for! We had the pork and chicken & it was perfect! The taste was just like the ones in Cali! If we had something to put it in we would have bought a dozen of these!
Clearly, you'd want to come here for the tamales and with that said, They are delicious, very moist and great flavor. Best I've had in Oklahoma! The only thing I missed was the green olive with the pit, cleanses the pallet and adds that authentic flavor and can easily be removed by people who don't like them. My only suggestion. Thank you guys for great tamales
Always the best place to get fresh tamales and elote! Have been coming here foe the past 10 years and they never disappoint!
A FAVORITE SPOT! We've bought here for years and probably the BEST tamales we've had anywhere! Always hot! Always fresh! Select spicy or mild. Today we ordered half chicken and half pork and went to Hefner park to enjoy them. These are a favorite of family and friends and we Highly Recommend them! Nicest staff and owners! This is a DO NOT MISS PLACE TO ENJOY!
This is a cash only establishment that does a few things really well. I ordered pork and cheese/jalapeno tamales and they are delicious. The green sauce has a good spice and if I had any complaint it is that the to-go cup is small because I could cover my whole meal with that sauce. I have not found a better tamale place in the area. The tamale plate was 10 plus tax.
They make awesome tamales and provide great service. definitely worth the drive
